Refuge Status: As of June 4, 2020, access to the Refuge is as follows:
OPEN:
- Refuge road is open to motor vehicles thru Hellcat;
- lower (gravel) road is closed.
- Stage Island Trail, Pines Trail, and Boardwalk 5
- Limited restroom facilities [bring your own hand sanitizer] at Sub-Headquarters and Hellcat Parking Lots.
CLOSED:
- Visitor Center
- There is currently no access to the beach from the Refuge. (Lot 1 boardwalk is CLOSED.)
